Chuck-E-Cheese

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

Again, talking to Tyler this morning he says -

“Mom, I know; we could go to Chuck-E-Cheese’s today with Tera because they have lots of video games and she likes video games”

Kristin- “I dont think Tera wants to go to Chuck-E-Cheese’s”

Tyler - pause pause pause…. “…But we dont have to eat the pizza”

Underwear

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

I came out into our living room this morning and the first thing I see is Tyler putting his pants back on. He says to me - “Daddy - I forgot to put on underwear last night. I thought I did, but I forgot. You know, just like you did for work that one day” .

For the record, every day that I have worked I have remembered to put on underwear ;)

Too smart to be 4

Friday, June 4th, 2010

For those who dont know Tyler, he is very good at getting what he wants and turning a bad situation for him into a good one. While this is a very good ability to have, it is challenging to keep up with him after a long day. So what happened today? Well, it started with being too rough with his toys and getting a time out. “Tyler - Go sit by the yellow tool box(which was on the couch) for 5 minutes and cool down.” But Tyler did not want to go sit on the couch. He wanted to sit by his toys. So what does he do? He went and got his yellow tool box, brought it over by his toys, and sat down…

Then there was dinner. First, he started off with Hi Fives all around because this was his favorite meal (corn on the cob and hamburgers). Then, he kept on asking Evan if he wanted mustard on his plate for his hamburger. Kristin and I kept on telling him not to. What did Evan say? Something along the lines of ‘hamugmeur’. What does Tyler say back? ‘That was Spanish for Mustard’…

Hopefully he will use his powers for good and not for evil when he gets older.

The toothbrush

Monday, March 30th, 2009

I had to yell at Tyler last night because he was about to brush his teeth. What kind of a parent yells at a kid right before they are about to stick their toothbrush in their mouth? Well, one that just saw their kid remove their toothbrush from the toilet. I had a hard time not laughing as I explained that we dont use that water for brushing teeth. He was sad that we had to throw that toothbrush away.

Whats your name

Monday, March 30th, 2009

For those who dont know, Tylers middle name is Aron. If you ask Tyler what his name is theres a good chance he will tell you its Tyler Daddy Chowanec.

Shucks

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Kristin was on her way home from work with the boys a few weeks ago. On her way home Tyler said “Shucks” (im not sure why). Kristin asked Tyler what he said because she had never heard him say that before. Tyler replied - “Shucks mommie. You know, instead of dammit!” .

Kristin could have told the story a little better but she refused to post it. I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand he knows a bad word. On the other hand he knows that he should not use it… it only gets better from here I guess.

Its peanut butter jelly time

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Kristin and I were going to Kristins works holiday party the other day. Nana, Kristins mom, was coming over to babysit for us. When we told Tyler this he asked; ‘Can nana drive to the store?’. We asked him why she would need to drive to the store. ‘In case we run out of peanut butter and jelly. Can nana drive to the store to get more?’. We then told Tyler we didnt think we were going to be away that long…

Better clean my room

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

Tyler and I went into his room to get ready for bed. I was telling him to pick out some books when he told me- ‘Daddy, my room is a mess.’. I told him yes, but we could clean it up tomorrow(bad, I know). He insisted on cleaning it up and he started to put some of his toys away. He then asked me if I could sing the ‘better clean my room’ song. For those who dont know, Tyler likes to sing songs about everything. Generally, the lyrics and title are the same thing. I asked him how it went. Tyler then stopped putting his toys away and started to dance and sing - I better clean my room before mommy gets mad; I better clean my room before mommy gets mad. ‘Thats how it goes daddy’ he said. ;)

Wack-a-Mole

Happy Halloween

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

Tyler and I could not go out trick or treating this year right when it started because Kristin was feeding Evan. So, Tyler helped me hand out candy. I dont think ive ever seen anyone more excited to hand out candy. He would run to the end of the driveway recruiting kids. He would yell “Over  here!” to anyone he saw and then say “Trick or Treat!”.  Then he would run back up to the porch and yell, “I think they are coming!”.

When we were finally able to go trick or treating Tyler had a lot of fun. He started off saying “Trick or Treat!” and “Thank you!”, but it then turned into “Happy Halloween!” and “Good Luck!”. Im not sure where that came from. He also blew kisses to some people telling them it was for good luck. Coming back from one of the houses he told me all this candy was for when he went poopie in the toilet. I think he told someone else that as well because the people at the house were just at when he told me that started lauging really loud(I was waiting on the sidewalk while he went to the houses). All in all, Tyler had a lot of fun. Tyler got a lot of candy and Kristin yelled at me as I took out anything that looked to be potentially dangerous…

Yes, he went as a dragon again this year. I dont think the outfit will fit him next year though…

UPDATE:

Kristin told me she heard Tyler tell some kids that the candy he was handing out was for going poopie in the potty. She also heard him yell from the porch “Hey Kids! I have candy for you!”
