Mothers Day

May 9th, 2009

Kristin told me the other week that I have not done anything “creative” for her in a while. It took a lot of thinking and finally someone at work gave me a great idea. The results are below. Kristin loves it!

The toothbrush

March 30th, 2009

I had to yell at Tyler last night because he was about to brush his teeth. What kind of a parent yells at a kid right before they are about to stick their toothbrush in their mouth? Well, one that just saw their kid remove their toothbrush from the toilet. I had a hard time not laughing as I explained that we dont use that water for brushing teeth. He was sad that we had to throw that toothbrush away.

Whats your name

March 30th, 2009

For those who dont know, Tylers middle name is Aron. If you ask Tyler what his name is theres a good chance he will tell you its Tyler Daddy Chowanec.

Shucks

March 30th, 2009

Kristin was on her way home from work with the boys a few weeks ago. On her way home Tyler said “Shucks” (im not sure why). Kristin asked Tyler what he said because she had never heard him say that before. Tyler replied - “Shucks mommie. You know, instead of dammit!” .

Kristin could have told the story a little better but she refused to post it. I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand he knows a bad word. On the other hand he knows that he should not use it… it only gets better from here I guess.

Look at me!

January 23rd, 2009

So it’s been a rough week in the Chowanec household.  It started with me in the emergency room with Evan on Sunday night because of his wheezing.  We found out that he had come down with RSV, a respiratory virus, and a double ear infection!  Tyler wasn’t sounding great either so Aron stayed home and took the boys into the doctor on Monday to find out that Tyler had the same thing and an ear infection as well!  So we have been home all week trying to get better.  Evan was back at the doctor today and I’m told he is improving.  Now we have to hope that Aron and I don’t catch the virus.

So during the week at home Evan decided to learn a new ‘trick’.  I came home from work to find him happily sitting all by himself!  He is very happy about this new skill because he can now see everything going on around him.  He especially loves to watch his big brother play.  I thought I’d share a few pictures I took of him today sitting all by himself!

Enjoy,

Kristin

Its peanut butter jelly time

January 22nd, 2009

Kristin and I were going to Kristins works holiday party the other day. Nana, Kristins mom, was coming over to babysit for us. When we told Tyler this he asked; ‘Can nana drive to the store?’. We asked him why she would need to drive to the store. ‘In case we run out of peanut butter and jelly. Can nana drive to the store to get more?’. We then told Tyler we didnt think we were going to be away that long…

Better clean my room

January 18th, 2009

Tyler and I went into his room to get ready for bed. I was telling him to pick out some books when he told me- ‘Daddy, my room is a mess.’. I told him yes, but we could clean it up tomorrow(bad, I know). He insisted on cleaning it up and he started to put some of his toys away. He then asked me if I could sing the ‘better clean my room’ song. For those who dont know, Tyler likes to sing songs about everything. Generally, the lyrics and title are the same thing. I asked him how it went. Tyler then stopped putting his toys away and started to dance and sing - I better clean my room before mommy gets mad; I better clean my room before mommy gets mad. ‘Thats how it goes daddy’ he said. ;)

Happy New Year

Happy New Year from The Chowanec Family!  We hope that 2009 brings many blessings for you and your family!

A Very Merry Christmas!

December 28th, 2008

I thought I’d share a few pictures from the Christmas celebration at The Chowanec house. Tyler was a very good boy this year. Santa heard his plea for Whac-a-Mole, which besides Hungry Hungry Hippos, was his favorite gift!  Tyler asked on Christmas night if we put cookies and milk out again would Santa come back?  We had to explain to him that this only works one night a year.

Wack-a-Mole

December 24th, 2008

Tyler has been talking about wack-a-mole for the past week non stop. We did not get him wack-a-mole for Christmas though. Looks like ill be going to the store today…
